KeyTrain Helps South
Carolina Seniors Earn
CRC
RIDGELAND, SC,
May 25, 2010---Eighteen
high school senior
students have earned a
WorkReadySC Career
Readiness Certificate as
a result of taking the
WorkKeys® assessment at
the Academy for Career
Excellence (ACE).
Students prepared for
the test by using
KeyTrain® software.
The
WorkReadySC Career
Readiness Certificate is
awarded in collaboration
with the South Carolina
Department of Commerce
and the WorkKeys
assessment system.
WorkKeys assessments are
managed by the American
College Testing Program
(ACT). Students were
tested in the three
skill areas identified
as essential for success
in any job. Those
skills are Applied Math,
Reading for Information
and Locating
Information.
Osvaldo Mejia earned a
Gold WorkReadySC
credential by scoring
“5” or higher on all
skill assessments.
Silver WorkReadySC
credentials were earned
by Denise Austin, Joseph
Cruz, Jerry Ferguson,
Jared Fouke, Andrew
Malphrus, Shane
McKinley, Deidre Mills,
Glenn Moultrie,
Christian Nava, Tiffany
Nix, Walter Nix, Alea
Palmer, Christopher
Price, Craig Reaves,
Shanice Warren, James
Washington, and Patrick
Wilson. These students
scored “4” or higher on
all skill assessments.
The
WorkReadySC Career
Readiness Certificate is
a nationally-recognized
credential and is a
valuable asset for job
searches. It is
recognized in 40 states
and by over 250
employers in South
Carolina. Continued use
of KeyTrain software
for test preparation has
been made possible by a
grant awarded by the
Palmetto Electric Bright
Ideas program.
The implementation of
the KeyTrain/WorkKeys
program is a unique
opportunity for students
who attend ACE.
