10/19/2010 Governor Granholm Declares NCRC Week

Michigan Governor Granholm proclaimed the week of October 17-23 to be Career Readiness Certificate Week in Michigan.  Michigan's National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) is the state's standard to ensure their workforce is job ready and certified.

The week coincides with the 6th Annual Michigan NCRC Conference in Lansing, MI on Thursday and Friday, October 21 and 22.  Several of the KeyTrain staff will be in attendance to speak and to demonstrate the finer points of KeyTrain and Career Ready 101 to attendees.

The state of Michigan has embraced the NCRC throughout its workforce development and educational system.  All high school Juniors are required to take the three WorkKeys assessments that make up the NCRC. The Department of Energy, Labor and Economic Growth (DeLEG) has embraced the Certificate in its policies as well.
