WorkKeys Skills
Gap Identification and Training
By comparing a job or occupational
profile with the assessment results for an individual, you can quickly
identify skills gaps that the individual has for that particular
occupation. Alternatively, you can use the assessment results together
with KeyTrain's on-line occupational database to select jobs for which
the candidate is either qualified, requires minimal training, or is
interested in.
Once the occupation and skills gaps are
identified, ACT has developed guidelines for training curriculum to
close the gaps. ACT published these guidelines for developing curriculum
as the Targets for Instruction series. ACT does not, however, supply
actual curriculum for use with students or employees.
Thinking Media has
developed a series of basic skills training courses based on these
Targets for Instruction. The result is the KeyTrain system. Thinking
Media has worked closely together with ACT, and ACT has reviewed the
KeyTrain materials and has certified that they meet ACT's requirements
for WorkKeys training curriculum. Thinking Media has recently been
awarded the distinction of an ACT Level 1 Publisher and Preferred
Provider for WorkKeys curriculum. ACT has also chosen KeyTrain to be
included in all of ACT's new ACT CentersSM. The Centers are ACT's new
system for providing access to a wide range of training curricula and
services.
